Our Story

The Ennis Eccentric Music Society (E.E.M.S) was born from a shared passion among friends and musicians to revitalize the original and alternative music scene in Ennis, Co. Clare. After the challenges faced by local artists and venues, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic, we recognized the urgent need for a dedicated platform for original live music. Our society found a welcoming home in Lucas’ Bar, historically celebrated as a rock music hub in Ennis.

Since November 2023, Lucas’ Bar has been our monthly gathering spot, proudly hosting diverse, vibrant musical events and showcasing over 130 musicians spanning genres from acoustic sets to hip-hop, rock, electronic, and even reggae-ton as Gaeilge.

Our Mission

At E.E.M.S, our mission is simple:

  • To provide musicians—both seasoned artists and emerging talent—a stage to share original music.
  • To foster community, creativity, and collaboration in Ennis and the wider Clare region.
  • To inspire new musical experiences and enrich the local cultural landscape.

Meet Our Team

  • Saoirse Walsh: A musician with deep roots in Clare's music scene, Saoirse brings enthusiasm, experience, and a lifelong love of live music, helping nurture new talent and connections.

  • Laetitia Andre: A seasoned singer-songwriter with over 20 years of performance and event-organizing experience, Laetitia is dedicated to empowering musicians and creating memorable events for audiences.

  • Nick Bromfield: A production manager, expert sound engineer and musician with over 20 years experience. Nick ensures every E.E.M.S event runs seamlessly, delivering exceptional sound quality and unforgettable experiences for both performers and audiences.

  • Alexander O Donoghue: A production manager, musician and DJ. Alex provides tech & web support on and off stage to ensure every aspect of E.E.M.S runs smoothly.
